Golden Retrievers of Excellence
We raise our golden retrievers in a home-style environment with the help of caretakers and trainers. Our dogs participate in daily training, play, field trips, volunteer events and assist in our training classes. This background prepares them to go on to serve a purposeful therapy dog or service dog career or family life.
We feel good raising our dogs with the strongest possible foundation, preparing them for life’s work, and loving them unconditionally along the journey. When training is done and the time comes, it is sad to see them off but it is also overwhelmingly fulfilling to see them do the work they were bred, born, selected, raised and trained to do. And the joy that brings to their family is why we do what we do.
Our Vision
To develop a line of Golden Retrievers that excel in working ability, health, conformation, and temperament—setting the standard for service dogs and purposeful companions.
We aim to thoughtfully match each dog with the right family, creating harmony for both the dog and the people who love them.
Alongside this, we strive to become exceptional human trainers for dogs by continually refining our programs and bridging the all-too-common gap between mismatched dogs and people.

Appalachian Dog Training’s Golden Retriever breeding program is four generations strong, with each litter thoughtfully produced for health, temperament, and long-term compatibility in working, therapy, and family homes.
As a behavior expert, we evaluate not just structure and genetics, but emotional resilience, energy profiles, and drive—pairing the right dogs to produce puppies with clarity, confidence, and adaptability. We follow Avidog®-informed practices, blending science-backed methods with deep understanding of canine behavior.
Every dog in her program meets rigorous health standards, including OFA and genetic testing, and many go on to earn AKC and service titles.
