Appalachian’s Trail Runner
Indy was named for her speed, enthusiasm, and joyful zest for life. She presents as low-medium energy and already demonstrates the traits we value in a well-balanced working Golden Retriever.
Indy reflects the promising early characteristics of her mother, Jada, who matured into an exceptional working dog known for strong and consistent work drive paired with an excellent off switch. Indy displays this same desirable combination of high motivation, low arousal, and steady engagement.
Her natural focus, responsiveness, and eagerness to work position her as an excellent candidate for a variety of structured working roles.
Working Expectations
Indy comes from a proven lineage of actively working therapy and service dogs demonstrating stable temperaments, environmental soundness, and reliable work drive.
Her mother, Jada, serves as a full-time Facility Dog in a structured school environment, while her grandmother, Summer, contributes as a visiting Therapy Dog. Indy’s littermate, Fish, is currently working at a private therapy practice serving U.S. Veterans in Washington, DC. A brother from an earlier litter, Solo Uno, is successfully placed as a Service Dog for a U.S. Army Veteran.
Indy is well suited for placements including:
- Therapy Dog roles
- Facility Dog environments
- Autism/Child Assistance Service Dog Work
- Psychiatric Service Dog work
- Highly trained companion homes
Her strong retrieve instincts, ball & food drive, low arousal and calm social nature support versatility across both professional working roles and active family settings.
